Anniversary Card

I love the design of this card. It's not my design, I found it on Tracy's blog at Craft Junkie Too. She does a wonderful job and I appreciate the inspiration she shares. My card is very similar to hers. But I did change a few things.

I changed the patterned, added some bling and changed the year for the couple I'm sending it to. This is the card that I'll send to everyone with an anniversary this year so the year changes for each couple. I made this card last year, but it was much larger because it needed to hold a specific gift certificate. I had added ribbon to the top of the card that was from the couples wedding. This time I left the ribbon off the top of card because I need to send it thru the mail so it needs to be as flat as possible.

It's a regular A2 size card and the heart (pg. 35) was cut from the Sweethearts cartridge at 4". The heart is cut in a silver shimmer paper but it didn't photograph well.
The numbers were cut from Storybook at 2" and the letters were cut at 1". They don't have a shadow so I cut the same size in black and just slightly overlapped them so their was a shadow on one side.

The inside is a silver glimmer paper from Target. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the edge. The sentiment is from CTMH and the "Happy Anniversary" is a wood stamp. Not sure where it's from.
Thanks again to Tracy at Craft Junkie Too for the inspiration.

1000 Hit Giveaway

When I started this blog it was to keep family and friends up to date with happenings in our little corner of the world. I decided to add a few projects I made but didn't put to much thought into the blog itself. Now it seems to be more of a papercrafting blog with a few family updates for good measure.

I'm not a big numbers person but it seems everyone is celebrating their "hits and followers" lately. Today I realized my blog had 1000 hits. So to celebrate 1000 hits I'm giving away a Street Sign cartridge.

All you have to do is leave a comment with an email address for me to contact you and become a follower. I will draw a winner Monday March 14.

Soliders Birthday card

This is a card I made for my husbands cousin. He's serving in Egypt and he was deployed over his birthday. His mom and wife asked everyone to make a card and they sent them as a surprise to him.
I used my Cricut but I don't remember what cartridge I used. I would feel terrible that my memory is that bad but I made it in October and didn't write down any of the details. It was a quick last minute card so their isn't alot of detail.
I've been saving my Cricut rewards points so I can get the Stand & Salute cartridge to make him another card. So many wonderful cuts on that cartridge.

A very long over due THANK YOU!!!

I was a very lucky winner at Popsicle Toes . Donna had wonderful blog candy during World Card Making day. Wow, that tells you how behind I am in thanking her. She gave away a $30 gift certificate to Custom Crops. You have to check them out, their one of my favorite places to buy Cricut cartridges and My Pink Stamper stamps. And that is exactly what I "bought" with my GC. I had the "Faithful Sayings" stamp set on my wish list and the Cricut cartridge "Summer in Paris". I've used the stamps many times and I wish I could say I've used the cartridge but I haven't. It's on my list of must use carts and I'm sure with summer fast approaching it will be used soon. Thank You, Thank You Donna for a wonderful gift. And I'm so very sorry for being so late on this. Make sure you visit Popsicle Toes and Custom Crops.
