Today I have a card I made for 2 very special friends. They both have kids the same age as my kids. I say kids but their all adults now. But they have always loved and prayed for my kids as if they were their own. It's a great comfort when you have friends that pray for you children. We can all use extra prayers.
We're all very good friends but their personalities are somewhat different. So I made one design for both cards but changed them to fit each woman.
Both cards started out with the exact same cardstock and patterned paper. But they have very different looks just by inking the papers of the first card.


Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo works perfect with the K & Company paper for the distressed card. Using the inker and rubbing it in circular motion added so much depth and aged the paper perfectly. I used the same technique on all the papers for the distressed card. On the brighter card I left all the papers untouched, the lace and Cricut cuts are the exact same.
Here's all the papers, lace and cuts from the Cricut inked. It's hard to believe that the same lace was used on both cards. Just by inking the lace it totally changes the look of the lace.

The card base is Kraft cardstock cut at 4 3/4 wide x 5 1/4 tall. I used the cuttlebug folder Textile on the cream card stock. I rounded the edges on all the papers. The cream paper border above the lace is cut with the Cricut using the Elegant Cake cartridge, it's on page 65 and cut at 1/4" and inked. The sentiment is from My Pink Stampers "Simply Sweet Occasions" stamp set. It's stamped on a cut from the Mother's Day cartridge cut at 2 1/2". The sentiment is popped up with Pop Dots and I added buttons with glue dots.

Two very different looks with the same papers. I really like both looks, which one do you prefer?
